Businesses that prosper during a global pandemic...
There's no current shortage of economic gloom and doom but I started to think about small businesses that might flourish during this time of isolation, quarantine and social distancing. I'm not talking about gouging and scalping (and ideally we can refrain from that particular tangent) but legitimate businesses that provide a needed service at reasonable prices. The first thing that comes to mind are food services that provide takeout and delivery. What say you; and please, please, please can we avoid such things as reselling toilet paper and hand sanitizer at ridiculously jacked up prices and loan sharking???

The food service providers who do a large sum of their business all the time via takeout and delivery, yes, but those "sit down" restaurants who are trying to provide that to stay alive, not so much.
There's no way for them to offer their full menu (there would be SO much waste) and predict how much business they will actually do during this crisis. When this is over, those of you who frequent restaurants are likely going to have a lot fewer choices. Sad state of affairs for the owners of Mom and Pop restaurants and their employees.

I just saw on the CBS Sunday morning show that making and selling jigsaw puzzles by individuals flourished during the Great Depression - I wonder if custom puzzle makers such Piecetime Custom Puzzle makers https://piecetimepuzzles.com will flourish during this current situation....

Streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. Guessing that their subscription numbers will increase.

The local feed/farm store business is booming. They have moved their point of sale outdoors onto the porch of the building. Coming into get feed or most products they come out to your vehicle take your order, load you up. Owner was telling me that garden equipment, seeds, equipment rental business is busting, everyone wants to get their gardens going. Most of the sales are with the swipe of a card, which they don't even handle. What little cash sales he does they mask and glove, then wash.

We went to one of our favorite BBQ places last night, Circle-M in
Anderson SC. I called first to make sure they'd be open. No eating inside, and a weird new protocol for getting your BBQ. A line of socially distant folks at the front door. One person inside getting their order and paying. Then a trip down the hall to the other door to get out, past where Marion gives you your drink if you got one... and it was DElicious, as usual. I asked Marion on the way out how they were doing bidness wise... about as well as usual  ... he missed out on three caterings thisweek, but staying open at the restaurant with good business sheltered his employees from lack of a paycheck... So... social distance, no touching of anything other than shouldering through two doors and the credit card. I've taken to getting my credit card out and putting it in its own pocket, and then disinfectant wiping it when I get back to the car. I think my signature is dissolving  ...This might be the only take-out place we've visited since all this lockdown stuff started. Lowes, Grocery, Gas, BBQ and luthier... -Mike "they have sneeze guards at Lowes now..."

Zoom video conferencing is doing well in the stock market, compared to most.
Also, loads of bio tech and medical companies are doing ok.
