Default Share Your Photos IV

Now that we have reached the max (300) posts for a thread, I will start the new Share Your Photos IV, as I have previously done. Thanks for everyone's participation.
These are from this past spring in Scotland. Elgin (ruins) and Lossiemouth at the Covesea Lighthouse

Are some of these photos in Lunan Bay in Scotland? I used to live in that area.

No. The beach is off the point below the lighthouse in Lossiemouth on the south coast of Moray Firth at Covesea. The ruins are the Elgin Cathedral in Elgin, Moray. My family, several generations back are from Jura and Islay and I was there for a few weeks visiting the islands and looking over ancient family burial sites. Beautiful country.

I long for sunshine and warmth. Minnesota's winter provides the first, every so often, but rarely the second. I'm ready.

A shot from Door County, Wisconsin last July as a reminder - Sony a6500, Sony 18-105/4 lens (*)

(*) If I had to take photos with just one camera and lens for the rest of my life, this is the combo I'd choose.

Great shot. I love catching butterflies on Butterfly Weed. I’ll take some of your cold air. It has been ridiculously warm here in Virginia this week!

What you don't want to see when you live in a forest....

Fortunately, this was a "controlled burn" of a slash pile in a (barely) open area....

Crested Pigeon from my porch

Smoky Dusk

Long exposure shot (60s) of the burning hills west of home.

Water wheel in nearby Tallaganda State Forest burnt in Nov/Dec 2019.
Wheel itself looks OK but supporting structure & water race torched.

And what it looked like prior to that.
This site was a logging camp built in the 1920s & the wheel turned a generator that powered the camp.

Feral deer in an intact area of the same forest further south.

Okay, we get great submissions here but we never see the equipment. For years when shooting magazine and book product I used Canon equipment and was a member of CPS. When I started doing more documentary work I switched to Sony for their full-frame and mirrorless systems. Now I use a combination of Sony - A6000, A6500, A7Rii and RX10iv bodies and assorted Sony lenses. For my work the size, weight, image quality and video capability Sony works best. Combined with Gitzo and HD Video tripods. Here are some. What do you use?

I'm a Sony guy too, Steve. I started with an A300 DSLR, largely because it would take the A-mount lenses I'd accumulated over my Minolta Maxxum days.

I got tired of lugging all that stuff around, so moved to a NEX5N, followed by an a6000, and then my current a6500. I'm using primarily Sony lenses - 10-18, 18-105, and 70-300.

I also have a Sigma sd Quattro with a couple of Sigma lenses - a much different beast to the a6500 - and a Sony RX100 III, which is easy to slip into a pocket, and never ceases to amaze me with its picture quality.

I have a Sony A100 that I got in 2007 I use all the time and takes great pictures. I guess Sony used to be Minolta.
