Default "Touch the Summer Rain" - original acoustic music

Hi everyone! Here's another piece of mine. What do you think of it?

Thanks for sharing. Well played and better video editing that prior. Don't care
for the composition however.

Could you explain why you don't like the composition? It could be useful for composing my future tunes.

It's a matter of my own personal preferences. Other will disagree with me.

I generally like melody driven compositions and longer phrasing, and ones centered around definitive major or minor keys.

I had an issue with the long period of mainly sus chords, few tension and release setups, and a low amount of song development. Much of the treble line used seem driven by what guitar technique was employed (I call that "guitar centric" composing) rather than musically driven.

Hi Misha,
I thought your playing was very skillful on this piece...obvious that you worked hard on this to get there......lots going on with this tune, for sure.
But, I can see where Rick is going with this. I too looked for a melody which was hard to find and I definitely see where his "guitar centric" comment comes from.
Also, if I may, I always look at the title of a tune and seek to listen/match its title/melody in a piece with the idea that what I'm listening to has the potential for revealing imagery, at least according to my ear......yes, it's all subjective. In this piece, I didn't hear anything which spoke to me about "touch the summer rain".....it just wasn't there for me. Others may certainly not share this view.....
Thanks for asking for feedback.....I don't usually write unless someone requests this.
Regards,
Fred

Thanks for your criticism. It seems reasonable and I don't really mind paying more attention to the melody in future.

I thought the beginning resembles cloudy weather and there are also some quick short chords in the middle, like rain drops. May be at least someone will share this point of view

Thanks Misha,
Perhaps someone will chime in and comment that they heard those elements the same as you.
Best wishes on your ongoing projects!
Fred
