No. There are customs out there such as this NOS at my local dealer who has it marked down to 50% of MSRP. Can’t last long at this price.

Indeed, custom shop is also the other option for D35 with 1 3/4 nut.

This one looks very nice, but unfortunately, I'm in Europe

As long as your premamp matches the impedance it's not mandatory to have the K&K, although with the K&K pre you know they're matched. I have a Radial PZ Pre that has a switch to go between high and low impedance, and it sounds incredible with a K&K pickup.
