If you ever spent any time playing in classical guitar position seated, the V works fairly well that way. Put the V notch on your right thigh, rest the lower bout on your left thigh, angle neck up. There's a bit more left arm extension than many guitarists are used to, but it works. And there is a reason classical guitarists are taught to use this position for their intricate work. And now for something completely different: besides Lonnie Mack and Albert King, I associate the V also with Bob Mould/Husker Du.

V's are great rock and blues guitars. Some people complain that they don't balance well on a strap--that the neck dives. Well, there's a handle that you're supposed to hold to prevent that :o)
