No I guess I take guitar a little too seriously.

I too "got it" that it's a joke. But that one kinda bugged me too. Like a lot of humor, a matter of taste I guess. But then the "Blutto smashes the 'folk-singers guitar" thing in Animal House also bugged me, and many folks think it's the funniest thing in that movie.

If it's impossible to "explain" a joke to make it funny, it may be just as hard to explain a joke to make it not funny.

It only sounds right in Bb to me.

I played it once with a singer who wanted it in G. Too low. Sounded horrible. But I played it, and got paid

I love that movie. I have the DVD. William Kanengiser from LA Guitar Quartet played the classical parts. Ry Cooder played the slide parts and Steve Vai played the rest.

obviously not well known but still my fav tv show scene with a guitar in it.

Trailer Park Boys-"closer to the heart" episode

Ricky kidnaps alex lifeson and while alex is tied up with duct tape on the couch. ricky looks at him and tells him to "play that Diane Sawyer song"

Trailer park boys is one of the best kept secrets of atlantic canada- kinda cultish here

Very funny show. Watched it Netflix. Stupid and silly but yet so funny.
Yes, that was a funny scene.

Don, I'm a big Trailer Park Boys fan and have seen every episode. Can't beat the first 7 seasons from the original run, all classic, including the Alex Lifeson kidnapping episode. Although not a guitar related episode, the Rita MacNeil bus hijacking episode was a great music related show.

Watch out for the samsquanch!

"I mean, nobody wants to admit they ate nine cans of ravioli, but I did. I'm ashamed of myself. The first can doesn't count, then you get to the second and third, fourth and fifth I think I burnt with the blowtorch, and then I just kept eatin'."

Don, some classic stuff! I miss the boys. Tell your wife she did a great job with the painting.

Another Candian classic, and best rock mockumentary ever, was Hard Core Logo. It had Hugh Dillon from the Headstones playing the lead singer, who later went on to act in a number of projects, most notibly the show Flashpoint. The guitar player was named Billy Tallent...

The best scene was where their drummer wakes up from a nap to realise they have passed a truckstop where he always makes them stop because they make the best burgers in the world. He also needs to take a leak, so he starts stomping around in their van, throwing a huge temper tantrum and threatening to urinate inside the van if they dont turn around. At the hight of his tantrum his foot goes through the rotten floor of their crappy old van as they are barreling down the highway... and wets himself.

I cant find that exact clip but you can find the whole film on Youtube.
