Default How to pronounce "Somogyi"

Hey everyone. I've visited Ervin's website a few times and seen his name around a few times but ... how do you pronouce "Somogyi"? Thanks.

It's pronounced /'don'teven'thinkaboutit/

Seriously, I think of it as /se'moggy/. I don't know if that's right or not.

i think its either, 'Suh-Moj-Eee' or, 'Suh-Moj-Yee' hard to hear if the y is pronounced when its said fast

From what I've heard on his videos, Ervin himself uses a very Americanized pronunciation with a soft "s", the letter "o" coming out more like an aaaah, and the "gy" combination like a simple "j", plus the stress falling on the middle syllable. The linked videos above make it pretty clear

Way different than the original Hungarian pronounciation:

(transliterated into typical english alphabet usage)

Shom - ojj - yee

good point i forgot to pronounce it with an american accent cos im british.
