Not to hijack the thread, but Steve, what's your recommended case for a G5420T?

I see that the case is on back order. As a low-budget make-do guy when I was playing out, the way I solved that was a folded towel in the bottom of the deeper case. Not as sweet looking as that Gator case, but I recall it worked.

As long as the side-to-side/end-to-end body fit was snug and the towel didn't shift, it's a good working solution that I've seen a few times over the years - mostly in the days of generic chipboard cases, where it also served to provide a (very) small modicum of additional protection. Best solution I ever saw in that respect was made by a phenomenally-creative former bandmate, whom I helped pick out her Yamaha 12-string acoustic back in our college days: what she did was essentially to make a snug-fitting gig bag (that fit inside the factory chipboard case) out of an old tan quilt, covered the sides/back with brown corduroy (to match the mahogany of the guitar - the tan color of the quilt closely matched the top), and hand-embroidered the tuners, fingerboard, nut/frets, position markers, soundhole, binding/purfling, bridge/pins, and rosette out of appropriately-colored thread, capping it off with her own name in place of the "Yamaha" brand on the headstock - not only did it provide much-needed protection, but mere words can't begin to describe the level of detail and craftsmanship...

That gator case is cool I have some of those gator cases,
I would submit that the Gretsch case is a cut above for not a lot more dough (IF you can find one in stock) https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...hardshell-case

I did end up getting the lower cost Gretsch case for my guitar. UPS decided to use the scenic route and it took 5 days to travel the 130 miles from CME to me

Yeah, I would have been a bit more concerned had there been a guitar in the box!
