Shure SRH940 Closed Headphones
Hi All,
Anyone using these? Thoughts? (Yep, the ADKs are going back to Amazon, they are so great about returns! LOVE them but really need the closed ones!) http://www.soundpure.com/p/shure-srh...eadphones/5209 I am also looking at the Beyerdynamic DT880s and the higher end Senheisers. Other suggestions would be helpful! Also, learning that some headphones require an amp to drive them. It would be nice to find some that don't require this. Thanks in advance!

After lots of auditioning, including Senns and Denons, who make spectacular stuff, I chose these;
http://www.long-mcquade.com/products...Headphones.htm The PLUS: Terrific high end fidelty, good mid range The CON: Bass can be muddy at volume The biggest trade off for me was strong bass vs clear high end. None of the ones I auditioned gave me both. Denons, for me are still a gold standard but they color the sound and so not so good for monitoring. These won and beleive me I tried everything including Beyers, Senns and then some. I also have a set of wireless phones for conveniance, when I want to listen to a track whilst doing something else. I chose these; http://baybloorradio.com/index.php?r...product_id=467 I dont recommend wireless for monitoring but they are a godsend when I want to wash dishes or play video games or just generally get away from the desk.
