Reminder than June 21 and 22 will be here sooner than you might think. If you or any of our AGF brothers plan to be in the central Ohio region this summer it might be worth a drive to meet the luthier, Tim McKnight, a few McKnight guitar friends who have become a part of the McKnight guitar family.

You can learn more about Tim a little more here as this week he is featured in the:

Thanks! Though the interview was done a year ago, they used it this month. I'm sure they have a pretty good size wait list, too!

If anyone is desiring to come to the home of the McKnight Guitar Wood shop in in June to enjoy sunny/rainy/snowy/tornado weather and to learn a bit about McKnight guitars, play a few guitars, hear a few others play on their guitars and join a what-not class by Mary or a highly technical class that you can teach or convince someone else to head up, then please don't delay on signing up.

You do not have to be a McKnight guitar owner. You do not have to be a guitar player. YOU might only be good as a listener. We encourage you to meet a few AGF brothers for this two day even.

Motels are 10 miles away, but we will see to it that there is food available while you are here.

Wanna bring a friend? Let me know! They just need to buy the t-shirt.

Contact me: [email protected]

If you are interested at giving a class (your time/no dime) others will enjoy the education!

Thanks for posting that link, Mary.
The back view of the curly maple MiniMac is stunning.
It's like looking at a Stradivarius.

Well, Don h contacted me last week. He has moved but has said he will rent a spot on the local camp site for his camper. Then he will drive the 10 minutes to the McJam.

For those of you who choose not to stay in a local motel, but are more intrigued to stay at a camp ground there is a legit camp site just ten minutes from our McJam location. If you need detailed information on where campers can be parked contact me by email ASAP as summer approaches there will be less options so close.

Subject line should read:
McJam Camp site desired

To those of you who were unable to go to the two guitar festivals we attended this year:

All 2019 McJammers will receive a magazine from the 2019 Artisan Guitar festival.

Also, I believe there will be enough Woodstock magazines for the McJam Friday crowd. Left over Woodstock 2019 magazines will be handed out on Saturday.

Our thanks to John and Baker for donating their magazines for McJammers to learn more about their shows.

A few months ago we delivered a guitar to Ryan Kurka who lives in the Carolina area. He will be attending the McJam with his parents Tommy and Beverly.

It's nice to welcome new customers who can get to know his guitar through a visit to the McKnight wood shop in person and not just through the pictures I took during his build process.

If you plan to attend the McJam and have no yet signed up please know the non-refundable entry fee is $20 per day per person and you must wear the McKnight-shirt (prices on website) which means it is time to get your t-shirt ordered if you do not have one.

We are down to the last 2 weeks.

The McJam schedule is under way.

Attendees may or may not have paid and you know who you are and you will remember if we made arrangements in another manner.

No order: Music, guitars, extended McKnight guitar family, food, door prizes, fun and fellowship is really the main goal for the McJam memories.

One dozen guitars will be displayed. If you are a McJammer on the list above and you have not been in touch with me by e-mail you might want to do that.

As soon as the boss taps my shoulder there will be a McJam list of guitars for sale shared in private mailings soon.

Get your camera ready. Get your BIO sent in ASAP. The book has started.

Well, another McJam has come and gone and as usual I feel inspired and renewed. I didn't come away with a McKnight guitar but that's OK. Someday. I need to embezzle funds from the family coffers and hide it away.

I get more out of mingling with the other attendees - even if it doesn't seem like it sometimes! I always enjoy seeing Tim and Mary and the rest of the family and the regular attendees who have sort of become family in a way as well. I won't "out" the people who took home guitars but you know who you are. Thank you for letting me play them for you though! I'm happy for all of you and only moderately jealous!

My high points are as always the greetings and the low points are the goodbyes. Some people were conspicuously absent (and missed) but there were plenty of welcome and familiar faces and even some new ones too to offset any feelings of being glum. I love seeing the joy in new McKnight owners and hearing their stories. It REALLY helps when they bring BBQ and Brisket though! Yum yum yum!

Now for my confession. Being loft security should come with hazardous duty pay! Being nearly 50 I should have divulged on the safety waiver that I do have to get up to use the potty at least once a night. When I tiptoed to the loft door after we'd already said our good nights and I opened it it set off the earsplitting alarm. I was thankful that I still had full control of my faculties!

The squirrels in Morral already fear Tim for good reason though. I know that the neighbors can be ruffians too but I hope that was the air gun!

Even though next year is lucky #13 and I nearly got into a fender bender on Rt. 23 (where a local and his wife riding in a large Buick in my blind spot gave me the Hawaiian Good Luck Sign) I'm looking forward to it. Next year I will pack and plan accordingly - I promise. I'll be there with bells on!

Default Thanks ALL!!!

I can't thank Tim & Mary and the kind attendees enough for making my 1st year at McJam a great memory!

I enjoyed spending hours with some amazing instruments and talking guitars with all enthusiastic participants.

The food was amazing and I think Tim could have blessed the brisket twice!

Downsides? No, not really, except the incredible red-tagged-temptations lurking around every corner, LOL!

I've got some interesting door prizes to enjoy and some great memories to think about for a bit, thanks again!

Thanks for the kind words and your email, Neil.

Pete, you live the closest and took the longest to get here for the event. Shame shame!

My event coordinator is gently guiding me to understand my new email system but as I get pictures organized I’ll share them with 2019 attendees.

I’ll see you next year!

I meant to reply before this, but work got in the way.

First, thanks to Tim, Mary and Adrianne for opening up their home and hearts to all of us guitar freaks! We can never thank you enough!

Neil - always good to see you! Glad you made it home with only a minor gesture from another motorist.

Peter - it was great having you and your cousin, Charlie, with us for the first time! Hope to see both of you at many more McJams in the future.

Mary - we'll get you up to speed on your new e-mail system quickly!! I haven't been able to collect all the fines I handed out yet for various infractions of the attendees. When I get the money, I'll split it with you.

Already looking forward to McJam 13!!!
