Happy Father's Day Willie!

I have played a Taylor Mini or two and I was impressed at how good they sounded. So I can see why you bought it!

Good for you!

Gongrats! I finally played my first GS Mini yesterday at GC. It was a hog too. I am not the biggest hog fan but I really really like it. I want to try one with koa sometime to see what it is like. Koa is more up my alley. I will probably get one or the other eventually.

"Broke two of my bylaws today"

Laws were meant to be broken. Wasn't that Clyde who said that (Bonnie's friend)?

I love my GS Mini Mahogany, it's my go to when I travel and just a fun guitar. I bought it used with a K&K for those plugged in opportunities. Enjoy!

Welcome to the Lite side of Taylor. Congratulations and happy you joined the club, I love my spruce and walnut Mini. But the hog has a strong appeal that may cause a second mini to reside in my house

This thread sure makes the mini sound inviting. I still need a travel guitar and I guess the solid top would hold up to camping -- I guess --

Hmmm.

Enjoy it! I’m not really a Taylor fan either, but I adore my GS Mini mahogany. I put in a JJB 330 pickup, and it scratches the plugged in itch for me.

Play it in good health!

Good story. Hope your travels and Taylor jams are nice!

I am going to Maine next month. 10 days no guitar playing. Unless I figure out a cheapy rental workaround like a used Yamaha and just leave it with my cousins on my departure. My parents are both born and raised there. I have been back there (summers only - because basically I am a wuss) at least 15 times.

Besides Clambake strumming on the beach on a temporary acoustic....I am so tempted to commission a guitar from Dana, or John Slobod. Not sure if you can actually go and pick out the wood, at their convenience? Or are they dealer only? Probably years out ordering would negate any tapped in person wood sets?

Good for you! I got mine (I got the Hog too) in March of this year and it has become an important part of my guitar family. While it is undeniably a great travel guitar, it is an awesome guitar in its own right for light fingerstyle - nearly as good as some of the better full size ones I've played.

I think you learned a valuable lesson with your GS Mini purchase. One we can all learn from.
That being not to assume you won't like something before trying it.

Congratulations On Your Taylor GS Mini Purchase!

I bought my Taylor GS Mini-e Koa at a Guitar Center and I've bought a few other guitars there too. I haven't regretted buying any of them from GC--Good Prices & Good Buying Experiences!
