Gretsch Synchromatic Identification
Hi folks,
This weekend I traded a ‘40 Epiphone Olympic for this Gretsch Synchromatic. Does anyone know much about these? I can’t find a serial or other information besides what’s on the headstock. The previous owner thought it was a model 160. Hoping someone here can confirm that or provide any other illuminating information. https://ibb.co/BrsJ61B

Thanks rockabilly, it does look very similar.
There is also the faintest stencil mark inside the body that reads the same as the headstock (“Gretsch Synchromatic”). I was advised by a Gretsch-expert at a local shop (Gryphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto) that at one point it would have had a sticker inside with a serial, etc., but that it’s long gone now. If anyone has any hints or info on how to tell these models apart, I’d be much obliged.
