Default My Andrew White model F build...

Just thought I'd like to share this with y'all. Andrew provided these pics of my model F being made. The model F is different from my current guitars because it has a wider nut width and neck than my current main Yairi guitars. The guitar should be done around the end of the year. This is my first small luthier build and I chose Andrew because of the simplicity of his designs (I love minimalism) and the experience I had playing one of the model Fs. This one has mahogany back and sides with a Cedar top and a sound port on the upper bout which has yet to be put in. Very excited

Nice looking box - I really like White's body shapes. What type of woods are you using? (EDIT - opps, I noted Cedar and Mahogany in the original post - I was distracted by the pretty pic!) Keep us up to date as things come along - I haven't seen a build thread recently covering one of Andrew's guitars. This is a treat - thanks!

Yeah, I also really enjoy Andrew's style but don't often hear about his guitars here on the forum. Thanks for sharing this with us

Is that spalted maple in the rosette?

indeed it is. i talked to a few AW guitar owners including a couple on this forum before pulling the trigger on the build. i always got wonderful great reviews from them so I felt compelled to try a model F out and was sold within the first few minutes. the model design fits my playing style really well and the sound offers me something my other guitars do not to widen my songwriting tools. i am very excited to get the finished piece and try her out live on a gig or two. will keep you folks posted.

Lets see more pics as they become available. I love Andrew White guitars, they are functional pieces of art.

Andrew is great guy. His shop is here in Morgantown, WV. I've visited him several times. I have one of his E65's - excellent build. Nice sound and plays very easily.
