Default Moving on to another astrophotography target

Just started this last night:



Only an hour so far, but I plan on adding to it over the next couple of weeks.

Amazing pictures. I have one you posted of the moon set as background on my laptop. As a kid I would write NASA a letter asking for pictures and they would send me the most beautiful brochures.

Actually there are six galaxies visible.

M81 (NGC 3031)
M82 (NGC 3034)
NGC 2976
NGC 3077

and very faintly UGC 5302 (marked)
and NGC 2959 (marked) just at the top of the frame.



I do not know the details of the shot (i.e focal length), as to how much is cropped from the full frame, but if there is more (as I think there probably is) there could be three more due East of M81.

Yes, that's true, thanks. I was just going by galaxies that were clearly visible.

Anyhow, it was cropped a bit. Next one I'll go further out.
