Default Mars in 4 K very cool

As and adjunct to robj144 thread about the Perseverance landing on Mars. I ran across this video of stitched together 4k still images from the surface of Mars from the other three previous Rovers ( Note I watched on my LG OLED very impressive)

Sweet and amazing.

Imagine what Perseverance will do. The cameras are generations ahead of those.

Amazing really. To see the surface of another planet in that much detail is quite a feat.

Great pictures, but the question is how can we be amazed about how the planet earth is going to look like in the future if we dont take care now.

While I certainly agree we need to try take care of the Earth now. But that is a different subject (And can quickly morph into two banned discussions here on AGF) and in reality has no relevance or impact on being able appreciate or be amazed by the pictures coming back from Mars.. so please cease that line of thought, and let it go at that.

Not to mention your question as framed is scientifically specious. There is absolutely nothing humans can do, or not do , to change the astronomical fact that the Sun's luminosity will increase by about 6% every billion years. Which will cause an increase in the scientific process of "atmospheric escape"
Which means water will eventually not exist on earth, and will leave only rock and sand (like the surface of Mars).

However we should note from a strictly scientific standpoint, while the reality is fairly likely that some few billion years into the future thru atmospheric escape. , the earth could very well look more like Mars (somewhat) with no water and a significantly changed and thinner atmosphere. But unlike Mars with it's extreme cold, Earth being much closer to the ever brightening sun, will likely be scorching hot, not freezing cold

It's a great video. A lot of the landscape looks like Earth.

It's going to be a significant challenge to get people to Mars and back in the next 15-20 years (mid to late 2030s). I hope I get to see it whenever it does happen.

Nice, and thanks for posting! It feels like I have seen many of those landscapes here on Earth.

Elon says he'll do it in 4 years and I kind of believe him. He doesn't miss many targets.

I don't see anyway that a human will walk on Mars in 4 years. I know Elon has broken barriers but that doesn't seem doable in such a short timeframe. It would be awesome if it was achievable.

Humm that would be cool but does seem a bit optimistic .

Just watched another great video about all the challenges involved of trying to design a drone for Mars
