Surely high value objects only appreciate, like in the art world "business".
buy it today for 10m, lend it out, do the social thing sell it on in a year or two for 11-12mill.

It's almost certainly a good investment. Yogi Berra said real estate was the best investment "cause they ain't making any more of it". Same principle applies to Strads.
