Default Hank said it so the argument is over...

You just can't argue with Hank logic.

They both do just fine with the throwing. It's the catching where the problems start...

I read that when Hank organized his band, he presented each member with a "blackjack", saying, "If Ya'll gonna' be runnin' with me, hang on to these, 'cause you'll be needin' 'em!".....

Being a traveling musician back in those days wasn't for the weak. In order to get from one show to the other you had to play honky tonks, dives, barn dances and about any other thing you can imagine. It would pay to be prepared and pretty dang tough.

Now if you're on offense, it's a telecaster

With Keith Richards we’ve got the video evidence, but I would be a bit warier about automatically accepting the statement in the first post in this thread as fact. If it is something Hank Williams actually said, this is the first I’ve heard of it.

It IS funny, though, whether Hank actually said it or if mischievous Internet pixies made it up.

I have never heard that quote either, Wade. Humorous nonetheless.

A woman is on trial for beating her husband with his own guitars.

Judge: "First offender?"

Defendant: "No, first a Gibson, then a Fender."

Agreed. But I doubt that most Gibsons are notably more beer bottle-resistant than Martins.

Nationals and Dobros would be a different story. But not Gibsons….

I’ve got a swamp ash tele that I think I could probably batter doors down with, I’m sure a beer bottle wouldn’t phase it, so I’m with Keith Richards on this one. Lol!

I have run across a few Guild 12 string jumbos that would make great riot shields. Though bad form for a rhythm guitarist, it's usually best to hide behind the bass player.
