Default Claxton Malabar Fan Fret and a Claxton EMc

I am currently working with Heartbreaker Guitars in Las Vegas to liquidate my guitar collection, with the exception of one guitar. So far the Bashkin and the Bourgeois have gone to happy new owners. There are still some real goodies left however, and we've just lowered the price on both these spectacular guitars from Ed Claxton. The first up is a 2017 Claxton Malabar Fan Fret. The woods are European Maple and Italian Spruce, and as with all guitars of Ed's guitars I've played, the workmanship is incredible. The asking price has been lowered to $SOLD.

The second Claxton for sale is a 2014 EMc in Cuban Mahogany and Adirondack Spruce. This guitar exemplifies what my opinion of a Mahogany / Adirondack guitar should be. It responds to the lightest touch while maintaining the headroom Adirondack is famous for. The price has been lowered to $SOLD.

If you have any interest in either guitar, please contact Brendan at Heartbreaker Guitars, 702-882-3180. He will be happy to field all offers. Thanks for looking!

Wow, a fan fret Maple Malabar....

And the EM is 13 fret? I have a 13 fret Malabar, I didn't realize Ed had made a 13 fret EM. Very cool.

Both of these are sure to sound stunning.

Default Claxton Cuban Mahogany

Hi,

You have the price listed for the maple fan fret, but not for the Cuban mahogany EMc. The price is on the Heartbreaker website, but not on AGF. Thought you'd like to add it on AGF.

Love Ed's work. He is up in the rarified air with Jim and Ervin! I let an EMc go that was one of my best ever and just picked up an EM that is divine.

Both of yours are fantastic!

Hey Doug. Yeah, the Maple Malabar fan came about right after the Santa Barbara show. You have been an inspiration regarding Ed's guitars. But it seems our final address is going to be in the middle of the desert, and these guitars deserve to be heard beyond my climate controlled room.

That maple fan fret is jaw dropping. I’ve played a number of Ed’s guitars. They are world class, jaw dropping tone machines. I can almost guarantee these will bring tears to your eyes. Holy moly.

The fan fret Malabar really is something. The scales are 24.75 to 25.5, so the fan is virtually un-noticeable. After several Healdsburg festivals, and a few other shows around the country, I felt my fortune had allowed me to play many of the finest guitars around. And this little Malabar is, to my ears and fingers, the finest guitar I’ve played. Again, tone is so subjective. But this little guitar checks all my boxes. It hurts to let these go, especially after only owning the Malabar for a year. But tucked away in a controlled environment is not what these were built for.

The two or three Claxton guitars I've had the pleasure of playing over the years have always been just otherworldly sounding tone machines. Its hard to go wrong with either one of these two beauties!! Good luck with your sale.

Just a bump for two exceptional guitars by Ed Claxton.

Thank you Simon. That’s high praise. The Maple Malabar is the one that makes me cringe when I think of letting it go.

I just noticed, if I'm not mistaken, that's Ed's backyard in the Malabar pictures, right? For those who like to see a peak "behind the scenes" :-)

I, too once owned a Claxton EM of very great tone and build.
After a year or so I traded it for a Somogyi. A rather even exchange all things considered.

Rarely do you see a maple back so near perfectly matched.

Claxton lifetime warranties are transferred from owner to owner. A most rare thing in the guitar world.
