Default Will CA stick to Tusq XL?

I’m working in an experiment that would require gluing a small piece of Tusq XL to a fingerboard. Since Tusq XL is impregnated we th PTFE, I’m wondering if the CA would stick.

Has anyone tried gluing Tusq XL?

It won't stick. I like to paint the bottom of a guitar saddle with cyanoacrylate to raise the UST volume of one or more strings. It peels right off the black Tusq saddles.

I used standard titebond to glue a tusq nut. It is easy to pull off by hand if I'm trying, but it holds fine for string changes.

You may have to do some joinery to make a more solid join, what's your super secret experiment?

It’s no so much super secret as it is difficult to explain, but I’ll try so that I might benefit from the wisdom here and find a solution.

If you’re familiar with 5 string banjos, you know that the 5th string starts partway up the neck at the 5th fret. There’s a tiny nut (called a pip) behind the 5th fret that acts as a guide. The fret itself acts as the nut or as a zero fret. I want to make something more like a real nut. Something that would bridge the fret, raising the starting height just a smidge. It would probably need to be glued in place, thus my inquiry about cementing Tusk.

Ideas welcome.
