Default Just sold my 1998 Strat

Pretty sad day. Pretty bummed out. It all boiled down to needing some cash to pay for a new guitar and needing to move on to 1 3/4" necks. Had to do it, but I sure don't like it.
Sucks.

Did you move to a 1 3/4" neck electric or acoustic? What guitar?

Sucks to have to sell a 1998 Strat. Did it get any playing time?

BTW - Welcome to the AGF!

I have a Taylor DN3 now, and I love it. I was prejudiced against Taylors for no reason, but am not anymore. I have another Taylor coming. My fingers for the last few years have been having more and more problems with my standard 1 11/16" and recently it has gotten really bad. DNA I guess.

I played the strat a lot, then not so much cuz it was too hard and then just about never (except last night, knowing the sale was going to happen).

The Taylor DN3 is a sweet guitar! Very underrated for sure. What's the other Taylor you have coming?

One day you'll forget why you sold the Strat and you'll say "I regret it"... so don't forget why you sold it.

My other Taylor is an M522, I have it listed on my signature (since I have already paid for it) but won't get it probably until Monday.

I am addicted to solid mahogany and my Martin JC15E has a 1 11/16" which my fingers are no longer happy with. Old age sucks.

I can't wait.

I am not going to ever forget that strat. Just like the old '69 I had, both were tremendous friends.

Love that DN3 though. What a sweet character.

I never would have guessed.

I dont think its totally possible to get over a guitar youve had a long time -
i still miss the Telecaster Custom I sold a gazillion years ago.

would love to get my hands on a new American made Tele even if its not a top end one.
I had a strat several years ago -but it was too darn heavy for me- never bonded with that guitar.

Don't know about you guys but i'd rather die than sell my strat... I've only had it for a year but it's my number 1.

It's to me what Blackie was to Eric Clapton.

I have made it a personal goal never to sell a guitar again after I sold a 1962 Jazzmaster years ago. I've got to be looking at "homeless" or "starving" to sell a guitar now.

I really haven't gotten over the '68 D28 I had for 25 years - it was my only acoustic that whole time. The funny thing is, when I got back into playing, I pretty quickly realized that dreads were too big for me to play comfortably at this point, and my older ears really seem to prefer the sound of mahogany to rosewood. So I wouldn't be happy if that D28 was still my main acoustic, but I miss it anyway.

Although I had a mid-70s mocha brown strat for that same 25 years and I don't miss it a bit. My current modified Robert Cray hardtail is a better guitar for me in pretty much every way to that old strat. That was my electric guitar for a long time. This is my favorite ever electric guitar and I anticipate having this for as long as I've got fingers that move and ears that hear.

I don’t know but that new 522 will very likely take the sting away.
