Default How many songs do you know by heart?

I’m still working on my list— up to about 50.

Not great — I gotta work on that!

Covers? Half a dozen.
Originals? Tens of dozens.

The most accurate answer I can give you is a whole bunch, definitely into the hundreds. But I’ve been at this a long time, so the number includes a lot of currently useless songs. Wanna hear Feelings? Nah, didn’t think so. But if you do, I’m ready.

I've been working up a winery-level set for a couple years now, know about 55 songs. Slowed down at that number so I could get enough time with them all to polish up.

As a solo acoustic player/singer I can probably play 50-60 tunes off the top of my head including singing the lyrics. I know how to play 100's of songs but I don't know the words to them. That's because I have played in many different bands over the years. My old 3-piece electric blues band in which I sang and played all the guitar could do about another 50- 60 tunes. I have forgotten more tunes than I can currently play now.

If I like a song enough to want to play it an add it to my set list I will learn it completely lyrics and all and memorize it. I don't believe in carrying around a book of songs and a music stand when I perform live.

Probably around 100, although I can never remember what they are.

I was curious cause it'd been awhile since I counted the tunes on my setlist and its right around 150, I know theres some I've written/forgotten that aren't on the list.

I can remember being 18 at one of my first open mics and chatting with a gentleman in his 50's who introduced me to Neil Young.. he said he knew over a hundreds of songs from gigging over the years. I sincerely thought he was exaggerating now 7 years later I get it, after awhile the more you learn the easier it becomes to "lock-in" new ones...and I have some terrible memory outside of that!

Ha! Really! I probably only know about 30, but I can only remember about five on the spot.

Hmmm...prolly around twenty or so. But there are some that I can somewhat emulate and mumble the words to (think Bob Dylan), which might put it up around thirty or so. After two years of playing I know I will NEVER be a great guitarist, but I just like to enjoy the fun of learning new techniques and sounds. I do remember a friend laughing at me when he asked how many songs I knew, this was when I first started, and I said "two". He just hee-hawed and made fun of me. So I asked him how many he knew....ummm...zero.
