I've always wanted to visit Maine...so if you are willing to pay air fare, hotel and meals, I can bring the Emeralds along. Of course that may cost more than just ordering a new Emerald. LOL Just wanted to throw that out there for you, we try to help when we can around here.

If you buy a stock model and don't like it (yeah, right) Emerald is really good about returns. I don't think they get many. You'll be out ~$150 in shipping both ways. We have some CF members located in NH, so maybe you can connect with one.

Or go with the Rainsong CH.

There's a B-stock CH-OM on Reverb right now for a little off the top. It sounds like it was a purchase and return, so nothing wrong with it, just "lightly used." I've got a Shorty and two CH models, they get my +1.

We were traveling in Maine the summer before last. I wanted some photos with my X7 along the Maine coast...

While shooting these photos, a young guy (in his 20s) came up and asked about the guitar. I handed it to him and said, "Give it a try."

He was very impressed with it. Played well, too.

If that budget isn't fixed at $1500, I would certainly echo putting a bit more with it and going for the X7.

Now you have me looking at the eBay auction, too.

I am one of those NH guys, no Emerald but 2 Rainsongs and a Blackbird you could try. PM me if interested.

I ventured into the CF world with a CH-OM. I liked it so much that I sold my J-45 and never looked back. Zero humidity concerns is huge for me, and the tone/playability is great.

If I had $1500 to drop on a new CF guitar, and I didn't already have a CF guitar (or 4) then I would have a really hard time choosing between:

CH-OM
CH-WS

Really depends on how large a guitar you want.

Consider calling your nearby Guitar Center in South Portland or Portsmouth. They can search all GC store inventories for used Rainsongs. It’ll ship to your store, and there’s a good return policy on used gear. That’s how I scored my two used Rainsongs, while saving a few bucks.

Up to $1150 now... what's with these "early bidders" driving the price up?

No need to call a store -

I believe Sam Ash has something similar.
