What's the average string height at the bridge on vintage archtop?
I'm restoring an old Harmony from the late 30s early 40s. Resetting the neck and I'd like to know what a good or normal bridge/saddle height?
I don't have the original bridge, the bridge I'm using is a new standard adjustable rosewood archtop bridge. It is about 1" tall which I think is a normal height. The 1" looks very tall for this guitar neck angle. I could make it work, but will have to remove quite a bit from the heal. Did some of these old archtop a have lower bridges? Thanks

A lot of old Harmonys/Kays were not made with the same neck angle as more expensive archtops. Therefore--lower profile bridges.
I can measure on my Kay for you later. |

Bridge is about 13/16ths at highest point, action about 3mm at 12th fret.
