Default Help with Jeff Healy "Angel Eyes"

I’m seeing F, Dm in this song. My son is playing lead guitar and has it down. However on my rhythm, I suck. Is there a capoed version with easier chords that would sound same ?

Thanks jed

Just at quick glance... if you both played it 1 full step up... to G and Em... no capo needed ( not playing along with the recording ). Otherwise you may have to capo @5th fret and play C and Am.. I would gladly go with the G and Em changeup to sound very similar to the song. To play along with the recorded music you both would have to tune down 1 full step to play it in G and Em... without a capo. That’s the limits of my music theory on this.

Hers the first verse. May be off a little on the cut and paste. I’ve changed F to Fmaj7 and it works good.

Intro – C-G-F-C-G-F
C Em F G C Em F G
Girl you're looking fine tonight - And every guy has got you in his sight
F Em Dm C
What you're doing with a clown like me
F Em Dm. D7
Is surely one of life's little - mysteries
C Em F G C Em F G
So tonight I'll ask - the stars above - "How did I ever win your love?"
FCE7AmGF. CGC
What did I do? - What did I say ------ To turn your angel eyes my way?
Intro –
C-G-F-C-G-F

I’ve been capoing around but didn’t think of tuning. We usually play a step down.

Yeah, you're squarely in the key of C here, so an Fmaj7 would be just fine. I think you've found the best solution for you.
