Default The Pink Panther Theme - original arrangement

Hope you like it. Unfortunately, there's no tab for this, it's one of those I've worked out in my head over the last 12 years or so. Sometimes it takes that long. But if anyone wants pointers just message me.

Was wondering how you'd pull this one off. Turns out a quite excellent arrangement and playing. Thanks for sharing.

What a great song choice. Since there’s no tab everybody will have to do their own version! Very memorable.

It's really very good Mike, it's also very well interpreted, a game with finesse like the panther

Maybe that's an idea! 👍👍.
If you want to do your own - the first sound you hear is an odd triad which I only worked out properly a few weeks ago; it's an E (12 fret/ 1 string) played against a Bb (11/2) and an A (14/3).
There is then the intro, played in fifths from C# up.

Main theme; Em - C7 - Em - F7 - Em - C7 - Em - |C9 B9| Em.

It then changes key for the jazzier part, I spent ages (really - probably months back in the day) trying to work out those chords before realising it's exactly the same as the first part, just 3 semitones higher.
Have a go. Or play along.

Thank you Remy, Derek, Gerhard, Bob and Roger. I'm glad you like the sound. I spend a while trying to get it right in Reaper. Could always do with tips in that department, Doug Young won't remember but he was very helpful, many (very) years ago as regards how I recorded.

Outstanding arrangement and performance. The slides give it great character and I loved the walking bass.

Wow, that was something else. Loved it right from the opening - super arrangement, great jazzy playing, and some neat improv thrown in as well (I think - after a minute or so listening to the original tune I always get distracted by that silly cat’s antics so I couldn’t track this entirely back to the original).

Excellent playing, sound and interpretation. Thanks for sharing!

Cheers

Dave

From you Jimmy, I'm absolutely over the moon by you saying that. Don't know what else to say. I'm humbled.

Appreciation for the arrangement itself means so much to me. I'm so glad you liked it. I arranged it as to how I sort of heard it in my head.

I'm so glad you all liked it. Getting comments about the arrangement itself means so much to me. I wish I could do more but they take so long; for me anyway. It doesn't come easy, so I am very grateful for the fact of all those weeks and months trying to get the bass right, or a harmonic change or whatever, eventually paying off.

There is an album in the works that I've been working on for many years, of originally arranged material from the medieval, folk and classical worlds, that will have a tab booklet with it.

I've been on cloud nine reading your comments.
Thanks people. What a nice bunch.

Mike.
