Default Chapdelaine on custom Michaud OM...

While my 00-R Michaud is now just a many-splintered thing (pun intended...ouch), Mike Chapdelaine took possession of a custom OM from Joel right about the same time...at the Santa Barbara show.

Here's a little something for your pleasure regarding these two fine gentlemen and their respective work:

I don't always enjoy straight-ahead classical pieces on steel-string, but this one ain't bad...the hands of the master tells all...and there are 4 hands involved with the ultimate delivery of this beautiful music, 2 each from Michaud & Chapdelaine, respectively...!

What a sound. I'm on Joel's list..... my build should crop up 2018. This makes the wait even harder! Wonderful sounding guitars.

Michael is a beast, and that guitar sounds fantastic. For a while I thought it was one of his students' Somogyi, then I saw the rosette and headstock and realized it was a Michaud. Impressive work.

Wow! Michael sure breathes life through his playing, doesn't he! And Joel has done it once again and made a fabulous sounding instrument.

That is really special. Really nice guitar! I met Joel in Memphis and had the opportunity to play some of his guitars...pretty darned sweet indeed. His colorful use of abstract items not commonly found on guitars (jewelry for example) is intriguing.

This artist is inspiring...amazingly gifted touch. (Makes me want to practice more ) I gotta say, this guy could make any guitar sound pretty special....but...the Michaud is certainly tonally spot on and a delightful instrument indeed.

Thanks for sharing!

Thats about the best tone from a SS I have heard, how much is the player/instrument is hard to judge.

For something absolutely mind boggling, listen to the way Clive Carrol changes his tone in the first 20 seconds of this TNAG video. It's as if he's rolling off the treble on an EQ.

I was able to spend time alone with this Michaud at SBAIC outside where I could actually hear it. It was phenomenal! And Michael's recording of it is breathtaking.
