Default Which recording set up??? Help please!

I'm trying to choose which recording system to go with.

Currently tossing up between a Zoom H2 and a Tascam 006 (or similar).

What are the pros and cons of each?

I used to record with an old cassette 4 track Tascam, and I really do like that format. I'm not too keen on elaborate PC based software- want to keep it simple, easy and fun.

Any other suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

How many tracks do you want to record at one time separately? What's the purpose of the recordings?
The Zooms get a lot of good comments.

The Tascam is more like your 4 track cassette, it supports overdubs and multi-tracking. The H2 (discontinued and replaced by the H2n) is a fine recorder but has no overdub capability. However, it can be used as an interface to a computer, allowing overdubbing within the computer using other software.
