Acoustic treatment vs. isolation
I am wondering which will help me get a better acoustic guitar sound. Recording with Rode NT1a into TC Electronic firewire interface into Apple Logic.
I can put up acoustic panels on the walls. Fiberglass insulation inside. OR, I can create 2 or three movable gobos I can pull together to create a three sided recording space. The gobos would basically be bigger acoustic panels. |

Both could work. Can't say which is better as it depends on the room and how many wall panels you are prepared to hang.

The gobos can be positioned on a trial and error basis and can offer good results.
If you are going to "treat" the room it is a good idea to understand the math and science involved to guarantee a good result. |
