i think every guitar is different, there is not a guitar better, it depends on personal tastes. i'm sure there are differences also beween 2 aged authentics
How do you compare the neck to the Collings neck if you ever played both?

I have a 000-42 A. Great guitar. And yup the neck is the same as a original. Proper set ups can give great comfort for playing.

I also bought a stage one aged 1937 000-28 in Ambertone, in early October and -like topdogjim- I love it. I didn’t get it because I believe it’s exactly like a 1937 000-28. I also didn’t buy it because I think it’s the last “authentic” or vintage facsimile of a 000-28 that Martin will ever make. I did get it because I loved the tone, playability, the neck, etc. AND the vintage vibe, excellent, way cool cosmetics (love the aged ambertone!) which IMHO all add up to a wonderful approximation of an 80 yo guitar in great shape. I’m not trying to fool anyone when I take it out of the case and play it. To me it is just a great reproduction (w some accommodations) with fantastic tone. For me the price matches the value I received, and whatever Martin does down the road w other Authentic offerings doesn’t change any of the above.
