I'm guessing that's a brand new strap. Just keep forcing it over the strap button. The strap hole will become softer and more pliable with use.

Music Nomad just introduced a line of Strap brackets that attach to the endpin and have Schiller compatibility. Finally a company inventing a product solving a real problem.

I tried Tapastrings and they didnít fit on my Taylorís. Total waste of money.

The guitar shown in the lower left is the Klepper KJ that Howard Klepper built for me. Thatís my preferred setup, with a Schaller strap lock button centered on the tailblock and a flush mounted jack halfway between the strap button and the top. It works perfectly.

I also have a couple of instruments with arrangements like the one shown in the other photo, when thereís already been an endpin jack installed in the center.

But I have to tell you, if I had known about the new product that Music Nomad has just come out with, I would have used that.

Count me in as another Tapastring satisfied user and unofficial endorser!

Best,

This is what I was talking about:

Music Nomad Acousti-Lok Strap Lock Adapter

I just wish they had started making those twenty years ago. It would eliminated the need for the workarounds I've had to come up with.

It's Schaller strap lock compatible, which is a key element of its appeal for me. I use Schaller strap locks on my guitars and mountain dulcimers.

This has puzzled some guitarists, who've been baffled by the idea of anyone wanting to use strap locks on acoustic instruments. But as a multi-instrumentalist I generally change instruments several times in performance, and it's usually been in the midst of instrument changes that the straps have tended to want to fall off. So lock 'em up I do, and over the years that's prevented more than one instrument from falling off and hitting the floor.

So this new product from Music Nomad is a great idea so far as I'm concerned.

Tapastring makes a different model for the Taylor-type end pin (Strapkeeper Two). You just need to get the correct one.
