1) I can't believe my account hasn't been expunged on the grounds of sedition.

2) I must've misunderstood this post, because I think I actually have something to contribute [sic]. I think just about everything I've ever posted to this forum has been misconstrued, and nearly everything I've ever read here has made me feel musically challenged, to put it mildly. To document, reinforce, and further illustrate this, here is this simple song as I learned it from a friend, perhaps ten years ago:

Snow Blind Friend -- Hoyt Axton

G C
Did you say it was this morning
G C
You last saw your good friend

Lyin' on the pavement
D
with the misery on his brain?

G C
Stoned upon some potion
G C
He found upon the wall

Of some unholy bathroom
D
In some ungodly hole

G C
He only had a dollar
D
To live on 'til next Monday
G C D
So he spent it on a comfort for his mind.

C G
Did you say you saw your good friend goin' blind?

G C
Someone should call his parents
G C
A sister or a brother
D
Take him back home on a bu s
G C
But he'll always be a problem
G C
To his poor and puzzled mother

And he'll always be
D
Another one of us...

G C
He said he wanted heaven
D
But praying was too slow
G C
So he bought a one-way ticket
D
On an airline made of snow

Snow Blind Fried - Hoyt Axton

The trick is to hang on that C chord forever...

C
Did you say your saw your good friend
G C
Flyin' low...

G C G C
Flyin' low, dyin' slow
G C G C
Flyin' low, dyin' slow
