Default Mean Girl - original song

Hi all,
Well I usually post covers on here, either because I set out to do the cover or because I'm historically lazy when it comes to writing lyrics so I just use someone else's.
Anyway, I finally got round to writing some lyrics and, in doing so, my original idea for the song changed completely. Unlike my usual stuff, this isn't completely acoustic, but it is very much driven by acoustic guitar and acoustic banjo.
Anyway, enough preamble, have a listen, and I would really appreciate feedback on this one - good or bad.
Thanks for listening

Matt

I really like the groove you've got going on this. It's just so fun sounding!

Matt, this is really great! I love the groove, arrangement and production. The lyrics are very clever, and the musicianship and vocals are outstanding! I even dig the scratchy record effect at the start and before the harmonica solo (which is very well done, too)!

Thanks Dorable - it was fun. I just want to keep adding to it though stuff, and I'm still having ideas for it. I should learn when it's time to put a song to bed.

@bob1131 - your comments put a great big smile on my face. I was panicky about the lyrics sounding cheesy so I appreciate that. As for the scratchy vinyl - you'd be surprised how much searching I had to do to find the right effect for that

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment both of you

This is great. Cool stuff. "Hair of red and eyes of green and a mile wide streak of nothing but mean." Hahah.

Nice instrumental and vocal work all around.

Loved that groove! Very clever lyrics! Come on man you have to keep writing!! Loved the whole thing, especially the the effects you used on the production, gave it cool authentic feel. I'm going to be humming that tune all day. Great harp work!!

Thanks Rolli. I'm still learning to use my DAW software so your comment on the mix is important to me. Glad you liked it.
