Default sunday afternoon

thank you.

I almost gave up on recording this piece many times. first of all the tune is fairly difficult to play. when I recorded it took me forever as the e,b and g strings would buzz in the introduction. I was playing a 1996 Santa Cruz om and I didn't realize the problem was that the guitar needed new frets. I had to move my left hand in these goofy positions to stop the buzzing and that only worked occasionally. I got through it but at times I wanted to throw the guitar and all my recording stuff out the door, it really got that bad.

This experience was a great motivator. I got the guitar re fretted and life is much better. thanks again.

Let me extend my hand in welcoming you onboard.

Your playing really drew me in and I truly enjoyed this. I also listened to one of your other recordings and enjoyed it as well. I look forward to listening to more of your recordings.

Sounds really sweet, I enjoyed it very much. By the way, are you planning to make sheet music/tabs for it? I'd like to try to play it.

Default sunday afternoon

Writing out the tabs and sheet music would be very time consuming. I suppose if enough folks like it would be worthwhile. I've never played this composition in front of anybody other than my wife, cat and dog.

I rarely play outside my studio. I pretty much dream up simple melodies then they morph into little monsters that take weeks or months to complete.
I don't sing so everything I write is chord melody.

I posted this tune on the Santa Cruz Guitar forum site at the beginning of Feb. and have had 550 people listen to it. I only have about 175 views on YouTube maybe when I get to a 1000 altogether I'll play it in front of people and see how it goes. I really don't know what a good response is on these forums as I've never done this before.

thanks for your kind words

What a contrast between Dr. Jay's Sunday Afternoon and my version.

I have some sort of "impressionistic image". Folks walking in the park, sitting by the lake watching the boats a child's balloon floating away.

Either way it's a Sunday Afternoon.
