Wow, that’s a beauty! My reissue ‘57 SJ has become my favorite guitar, and despite its rep as a strummer, I’ve found it incredibly versatile across the board, though a bit big in some situations. On strings I recommend you try out DR Sunbeams .... mine is Adi on Maple, but the same strings sound great on my rosewood D28. The Sunbeams have really brought out the best (at least this year).

Thanks for the comments everyone, and the string recommendations. I'm having a hard time putting this guitar down, it plays and sounds so nice. I'll probably change the strings in the next couple of days. Can't wait to see how it sounds with new ones on it.

Thank you. The head stock flower pot inlay is a Gibson design from the first SJ-200, the one made for singing cowboy actor Ray Whitley. The SJ-200 Western Classic was made as a tribute to early western movie actors who rode horses and chased evil doers all over the west, while playing their guitars and singing.
