Just saw that - I do have a soft spot in my heart for louro preto. Classy series; I see one of the X7s is already sold.

Another nice series for sure. That Louro Pretto kinda looks like a combination of cocobolo and koa with the ones that have heartwood.

This February Select Series has some beautiful veneers; and I have to say I am definitely partial to the black back and sides paired up with the louro preto. |

When I saw the thread title I was wondering if this was new a guitar player I should check out... don’t think that anymore just if it is a new guitar I should play .

It is pretty cool...a little dark for my tastes though. I saw the email this morning and the X7 had already sold, not even 30 minutes after the message was sent. Someone was ready!
Does the X20 headstock veneer look weird to anyone else? Could be just an optical illusion but the area around the truss rod looks...off.

I never noticed at first but I agree with you it looks off at the top left side of the truss rod cover.

It does look a little odd. If you watch the video all the way to the end, there's a parade of all 6 guitars. I paused it for the X20, and in that view, it looks perfectly ok. I wonder if it's just the grain not quite matching with the trussrod cutout?

I'm very taken with the X7 *without* the heartwood.
I do not need another guitar.

"Need"?? Methinks you aren't trying hard enough. That X7 is a beautiful guitar!

Her comment was "are you sure you want to use the money for that, instead of another Emerald?" I married well. Way above my station

Good husbandry Eatswodo. If you want to get better, you always try to play with someone more advanced. It can be humiliating, but also liberating. My wife knows every word in the dictionary, AND can spell it. She edits my work and I get back pages with great gobs of red ink. It's humiliating, but also somewhat liberating because I know I have good back up. Sounds like you have stellar back up.

Oh, I do. She's a gem.
My challenge now is to finagle both a camera upgrade *and* a second Emerald. It might require an unlikely piece of quilting equipment to balance the equation, but I'm sure we'll figure something out

No 12-string, so once again I am safe.
(still have a couple months before my Chimaera arrives)
