Beautiful woods!
I'm thinking the nut is 1-3/4"? Never seen a 1-1/4" nut with a 2-5/16" string spacing! Thanks for sharing--it looks to be a great one!

What beautiful wood! And I love the size and scale. Looks built to be wonderful to play! I'm excited to follow along on this journey. Haven't ever played a Preston Thompson instrument, so it will be fun to hear what your think!

Updated photos of the sunburst. Looking at a completion date some time after the New Year, it looks like. Went back on forth on whether to do a burst, but am very pleased with the result. Happy holidays!

If you go to Preston Thompson's instagram page, you can see a video of the body of the guitar after the burst. It looks downright 3D.

So my apologies for the awful photos. I am going to play around with doing the guitar justice with better photos over time...
My Preston Thompson O-Koa is complete! Received it last night and it was one of the most incredible experiences opening the case for the first time. I was thinking that, since I first spoke with Preston a year ago about the build, that until last night, this has merely been a concept to me. All of the time planning, making decisions, discussing with Preston about options, and imagining what the guitar would look and sound like all became a real thing when I opened that case. As many of you probably know, and has been made public via fundraising efforts for his care, Preston has been dealing with serious health issues and is only now returning to his home after months at hospitals and rehab centers. The fact that this guitar was made during his time away is a great testament to his ability to teach and mentor a small group of young but incredibly talented individuals to carry on his tradition of quality. This guitar sounds incredible, and I am looking forward to getting older with it. I will deteriorate but the koa will only getter better with time. Hopefully my guitar skills will do the same after being inspired to have this in my hands. Photos below. Again, I will try to do it better justice in the future.
