As some of you may have noticed, I recently changed my mind about a spectacular set of ziricote.

Ray had a more classic looking set that I really couldn't pass and he kindly accepted to switch gears at the very last minute.

Here's the set that won me over -- build pictures to come soon.

I'm not sure why they don't display on this page as I have no problem opening them in a new tab...but man, that is one gorgeous set of BRW. Looking forward to this thread!

BRW...as in Brazilian Rosewood? If so, that's some serious, investment grade wood you got there!

Holy Mother of Wood! That set is spectacular! I'm really looking forward to this thread as Ray is at the top of my list when the time comes. I hope for many frequent updates!

Ray is having an open-house this Sunday, if anyone is in the Eugene-area.

Joe, I may ask Ray to pull out that set, but I promise I won't get any drool on it. That is the good-stuff!

I have a hankerin' for a BRW-built guitar, but I've been avoiding woods that might cause a problem for me at a border-crossing. I'll just enjoy the thought of *your* guitar being built!

No need to drool, Larry...

If Ray finishes the guitar early, you could spend a few days with it if you'd like. Euro spruce top, fan fret, no cutaway...

That is easily one of the nicest Brazilian RW sets I have ever seen -- quality like that is so very hard to find now. Congratulations!!!

Yes, Ray has some absolutely outstanding sets of BRW! To some, a set such as this or the one I selected may be boring...but, to me, they are simply divine! Congratulations!

Thanks for your words of encouragement, guys.

The biggest departure for me will be the multi-scale. I can't wait to play one and feel the difference for myself.

Unlike my upcoming Olson and Leach (which will both feature too many inlays on the fingerboard), I asked Ray to keep the board clean and the inlay work will mostly go on the body -- custom rosette + custom inlays TBD.

If this one looks this good now, I can only imagine what is will look like on a guitar under finish!

Spectacular!! and all the best for the build.

best,

Keyshore
