Ok so I'm sitting on my couch in a playing my guitar and then I turn to the laptop and see this, first thought is wow that is beautiful. Next thought is I can see how comfortable that bevel could be, but do the fluted actually do anything I'm just thinking because it seems like my forearm would cover them for the most part, not to mention that you are removing beautiful wood... Sorry if this is a stoopid qestion,

I suppose it could vary by play depending on playing position, but in general, the "holes" or "flutes" are forward of where my arm rests so all the holes are unobstructed as they are pointing at my ears. As for tonal difference, I definately notice a large difference in tone since it's basically a portal to the lower bout. The additional bass and mids I get out of it are tremendous and yet they are still balanced with the instrument...very cool. I have tried A/B with the flutes covered and uncovered and the sound difference is real. My Nightingale is definately a beast of a guitar and with those flutes, the wider soundhole, deeper box depth, EO bracing, etc. etc.......the beast is unleashed. A number of other forum members also have these acoustic flutes so I'll let them offer their opinions as well. |

Man I'm jealous. If you're ever in the mid-west make sure to bring that one. I would love just to see it much less play it. It's going to be a beautiful guitar. Congrats and fly my way.....
