The cheapest guitar I have is an old Wurlitzer parlor guitar from the 20's. I pulled it out of a dusty corner of an antique shop (the neck was separated from the body) and set it on a small table that had been refinished by the proprietor of said establishment and was promptly yelled at. I asked him what he wanted for it and he said "75 cents and remove it from the table!" It just so happened I didn't have 75 cents, so I asked him if he would take a check for $5, which he accepted.

A 1958 Goya M-26. I paid a little over $300 around the turn of the century. It was the same as my first guitar, bought in 1960 and sold five years later. I knew I'd made a mistake and was so glad to find another just like it. I own a Martin and a Gibson, but play the Goya just as often.
Solid flame maple back & sides, solid spruce top, Brazilian board & bridge.

Based on cycling through several dozen new and used guitars (easily 100+) over the decades, I find this question kind of subjective.

If my acoustic Fender disappeared (loud, bright tone, and a cutaway body with a slick neck), I could probably replace it for about $400-500. My Larrivee cost 3x that, but isn't my favorite to play. If that one disappeared, I'd probably look for something more in the vein of the Fender. And I'd spend what I needed to, based on how it grabbed me, not the brand name on the headstock - or the price tag.

In the electric arena, I've sold top-of-the-line Gibsons and US Fenders that I didn't like as much as some lesser (priced) planks. So, for me anyway, it's more about the quality, sound and playability of a guitar than what it cost.

My ultra-cheapie is a used Silvertone ($50) I finally overhauled recently to make it more playable and stay in tune. Fun guitar. Details in another AGF thread I started about fixing up old beater guitars. Weigh in there, too, if you performed any upgrades your bargain bangers! Does a gift count?
I used to play a gig at a steak house/bar years ago. A regular customer brought in his Jumbo Takamine 12 string. Said he would like to hear me play it. Tuned it up, played a few songs. Switched back to my 6 string to finish the set. Outside on the break, he told me. "You have already played it more than I ever have. It' yours, take it home with you." I said "Yeah right" After the gig the guy was gone. Guitar was still there. Still had the plastic on the pick guard. I'm thinking he bought it thinking he was gonna learn, and never did. Ended up regifting it to my Dad a couple years later.

My cheapest was my first, a 1970 Silvertone classical given to me by my parents that cost $38 when new. Case was extra. Of course, $38 in 1970 is equivalent of $252.48 today. I still have it.

Lots of miles and smiles on that one.

Bob

My first guitar is a Blueridge BR40 bought for $350 three years ago. I added a bone saddle and pins and it’s my go to, always out on the stand guitar. My new
Gibson J15 is competing for attention, but the BR40 still gets the most playing time.
As far as cheapest, I bought a Squier Bullet Stratocaster from Goodwill for $40.
Once I cleaned it up and put on new tuners and strings, it played surprisingly well.

Mine is an Eastman E1OM I bought used at a great price a little over a year ago.

FWIW, I have no problem with your question - note that you didn't ask folks how much they paid, just what their cheapest guitar was. You didn't cross any lines as far as I'm concerned.

Also, those California series Fenders (such as your Redondo) can be really fun to play - good lookers, too!! Enjoy it well!!

The cheapest guitar that I play with regularity costed 220$ used- an A&L Ami nylon.
I’ve paid much less than that for other guitars that no longer get regular playing time with me. Some have been gifted to others who have an interest.
Stick with it. It’s worth the effort.
