Default Groovy New Guitar Day!

I've been wanting one of these for a wall decoration in the guitar room of my Long Island house. This one came up locally and I made an offer that they accepted, so I got a good deal.

Although it's a couple of years old, it still had the original strings an like a lot of guitars bought over the past few years, it hadn't been played much.

Even though it's just for a decoration, I want it to be playable so I did a setup and put on new strings. The neck relief was just right, the saddle needed 2/64 taken off, and the nut slots were way high. I left the braided UST in place.

Funny thing, even with the new strings, it sounds like a guitar that needs new strings! I'm not going to play it much, but right now every time I pick it, it makes me smile!

That Is Cool--Enjoy! Although I didn't attend Woodstock, my college roommate did and had some good stories to tell!

Not surprised that neither you nor the original owner found it worthy of much playtime, given your evaluation...

I'm inspired; yesterday I started learning the CSNY version of ''Woodstock''!

Here's my favorite version of that song. I think these girls are fantastic, and this is such a gorgeous arrangement of that song:

There's the link. I thought I knew how to embed a YouTube video, but I obviously don't.

I'll echo Gas's congratulations and sentiment! If you're having fun and enjoying yourself, that's what matters.

You click the
"SHARE" option below the video window (not the address at the top) and copy then paste the address in the YT icon box on the AGF tool bar and remove the part of the address from and including the (/) and to the left
leaving only 8x-DoOYJn0M

Congrats! Being all HPL, it definitely has a more muted tone. While I generally prefer PB strings on my guitars, I found I like 80/20 on my Woodstock.

I will try 80/20's on it whenever I change the strings. I put D'Addario EXP's on it and I do think they are a little dull but they will last a long time.

I got the guitar up here in the Woodstock area and I'll be taking it down to Long Island tomorrow. I'll post a pic of it hanging in it's new home tomorrow or the next day.

Thanks everyone, for your support of my ''groovy guitar''!
