Default Partscaster Strat.....Choosing A body

About to embark on my first Partscaster and have narrowed it down to a few similar colors.

My wife says pic the one that goes with a variety of clothing. Sounds like good advice.

Just for the fun of it….., Putting aside the configuration, which body would you choose

This is not necessarily a debate about price or Warmoth VS MJT (loads of that Online) but I’m Open to comments

Included a pic of the neck choice (Fatback roasted maple)

New Blue

Solid relic

Transparent Relic

The NewBlue body with that roasted neck is a killer combination. I also liked the silver body, but that would need a rosewood or ebony fretboard to look right. I’m not a fan of relic’ed stuff. Best of luck with your build. Post pictures of the progress you are making if you can.

from those three, the blue one looks the best to my eyes.

an antique/aged white perlodid pickguard would really look nice w/that

Emotionally, I respond more to the teal body. Personal opinion of course. I really enjoy color variety in electric guitars.

The idea of mixing well with your stage clothes could have some merit I suppose, but to my twisted mind color match theory is like harmonic theory, breaking rules can grab attention. I have two Strat types currently: one is black w/ white guard the other Shoreline Gold. I can't see a clashing problem with any clothes I might plausibly wear.

The clothing comment was sarcasm. I’m a jeans and T guy, so easy to coordinate

And how can you tell when I'm kidding?

Here's an example of the importance of matching your Strat with your wardrobe:

I like seeing the grain in the blue Warmoth but I think I prefer the solid relic. What color pickguard would you use for the solid relic? White, black, cream?

That’s another Thread

I have a white, black as well as a mother of pearl pick guard in the closet. I’ll try them all out. Pics forth coming

If I go with the blue it will be around 3 to 4 months to get it. The others I can have as soon as next week, but The neck will also take about 3 months.

Hard to chose, honestly. But, I lean towards the teal also. Regardless, I don’t believe you can go wrong with any of those. I’ve always wanted to do this. I’ll be following along. Thx for keeping us posted.

The auction is over and I got the Silver at a good enough price where I can also order the blue. But I'm going to hold off until I complete the build With the Silver. Hardware is forthcoming. I have question about pick ups that I will post in another thread

That's Robyn Hitchcock, a British singer-songwriter with a gift for the unusual lyric -- and coordinated wardrobe.
