Default Stand for a mixing desk.v

Does anyone have any recommendations for a stand for my 12 channel mixing desk. I see a Quicklok stand which is expensive but wondered if anyone has any other solutions - home made etc.

I have one of these I use for my MG16Xu and it's great.

Before I started carry my little four channel mixer, I carried my 12 channel and used a music stand as a table for it. You can angle it and adjust its height; you just have to remember to tighten everything down reaaaaal good.

I have a music stand type thing but it’s simply not good enough. It’s actually a lot sturdier but it’s still inadequate.

The on stage stand looks similar to the Quiklok so Ill probably invest in one of those.

I don't know if this is the same Quik-Lok that you were looking at, but I've been using one of these for years now for a 12 channel Soundcraft analog mixer, and it's been rock solid:

Quik-Lok WS540

http://www.quiklok.com/catalog/?p=pr...0&sName=WS-540

It folds up into a relatively small and easy to store "T" shape. Very sturdy. When I'm not using it for the mixer at gigs, I use it as a keyboard stand at home for a 49 key midi keyboard.

A few years back I picked up a laptop stand at Big Lots, just the right height and size for my mixer, I don't remember cost, but pretty sure it was under $10. Only drawback is it doesn't break down for easier storage or transportation. Around here, you're likely to find similar items at Ocean State or Home Goods.

I've got a couple of these On-Stage Stands EB9760 Exterior Mounting Brackets that I fastened two different sized pieces of plywood to. One is sized for a small mixer and an effects box and the other will fit the small mixer plus a laptop. Either mounts on top of an inexpensive speaker stand. At waist level height they are pretty stable and easy to set up.
