After a good set up it plays and sounds fantastic, and unique,no guitar sounds like a SJ200.

I generally despise under saddles but I wonder how it would sound with an Anthem. When I play out the volume is generally quite loud,if to minimise the possible feedback I would have to turn the blend all on the under saddle It would defy the point.
I generally use various magnetic pick ups but this SJ is so beautiful that I would prefer not to alter the esthetics .

I think I remember the battery as being factory-installed on the neck block with a clip-like holder. In the below photo, if you look closely through the top of the soundhole to the neck block, it looks like there is something that sticks out slighly beyond where the side of the neck block would be. By the way, the Element Active in this Gibson sounded wonderful when its output was routed through an Aura Pedal with an appropriate Aura Image.

my 2cents--- I would not go with the Anthem

I had nothing but problems with them on my SJ200.

From bad grounding issues, to sympathetic rattling (volume/tone controls in the pre-amp housing)

they do sound nice but, high maintenance in my experience

I replaced the anthem with a Fishman infinity. Stopped all the nonsense.

Paoli, did you see my second post with the photo of the soundhole area of my 2007 Gibson J-45 Honeyburst Koa Custom and my explanation of what I remember as to where the battery was mounted? Is your battery mounted on the neck block?

If the output jack is bronze-colored, it is likely a Baggs Element.
