Nice track, Eric. It reminds me of The Old 97s a bit.

Not sure what TL;DR means BUT You are correct that is quite an extensive list list with some interesting gear .
Yes recording an entire band is definitely an ambitious undertaking especially for a home studio recordist .
As you will find out most of the people on this sub-forum record themselves and a good number of those record only solo acoustic guitar instrumental, so as I noted you get a huge variety of gear lists and a variety of goals and every thing from entry level to fairly high end gear All in all it is pretty interesting

Since my last contribution...

sE Electronics VR2 Voodoo active ribbon mic - $499 (Sweetwater)

and my 'Sound Devices MixPre 3M' would move to your new section...
I also have a Zoom H5.

Thanks Jim.

Wondering what your thoughts are on Elysia build quality
I have been thinking about the Rack mount version of the Xfilter EQ

Build quality is very good although the unit isn’t heavy overall. No complaints at all with the Xpressor… flexible, reliable, and sees frequent use. I came close to getting a Xfilter 500 too, but found an something even more flexible in the Zahl EQ1.

Just a reminder of the categories...
  • DAWs
  • Interfaces & Converters
  • SDC, LDC, Dynamic & Ribbon Microphones
  • Preamps
  • Compressors
  • Equalizers

Also, because it comes up so often, it's probably time to add a section for handheld (Zoom type) recorders. So if you're using one of those devices, please list the brand name, model number, and the price it sells for brand new if it's still available for purchase. For discontinued models, I'll take a look around to get some idea of the used price.

If you have something to add to the list, please leave it in this thread and I'll add it in a week or so.
Thanks.

You could check it against the masterlist. I ask because while it takes me twice as long if I have to figure out what's new and what isn't. That will start to add up over time and I already have dozens of hours invested into that sticky already.
