Just like Jack Johnson “sitting, waiting for you”
(Or,... bad song-quote bump)

Wheeooooo
Hey Lizzard
Sorry you must sell, but someone will be thrilled! That Coco is mighty fine, and what a nice silky top to compliment it. Do you know if the loooong Headstock plays a sonic role? What a beauty Paul

Yes, I believe the headstock plays a part in the tone and sustain of the instrument. I will let Julian (or at least another accomplished luthier) elaborate on the theory. I just like it because it looks cool. 😁 Chris

The first luthier made guitar I ever fell in love with was one of Julian's OM size models that he brought to Woodstock years ago. It was so responsive, easy to play and beautiful. And he was so nice! There's a part of me that still wishes I had bought that Gaffney OM... It was one of his first models, so it was much less expensive than a build would be now. But we weren't in a position to buy it then, which I still regret.
And here's this one! Fortunately for my pocketbook, I got older and started developing shoulder issues. So this one is too big for me. And I'm sorry for you that you're having to sell. Based upon my experience playing a Gaffney guitar, if anyone is looking for a special, very responsive guitar that will improve your playing and increase your desire to play acoustic guitar everyday, I suggest you contact lizzard. This is an incredible guitar that is truly a lifetime guitar! GLWS beth |

I had a chance to play this guitar extensively last Monday and was very impressed with the newness to the condition and the overall sound. This is a mint condition MD which would go for much more anywhere else and will certainly increase in value as J. Gaffney gets more recognition and reputation for his excellent work.
Specifics: The Engelmann top proved to be very smooth in tone and clarity. I can say for certain that the tone is different that my Beneteau M in regards to the overall brightness of mids and trebles. The Beneteau sounds much brighter in comparison and maybe not as appealing to fingerstyle players. The Cocobolo on this guitar is really spectacular from a visual sense and certainly only adds to the lushness and complexity of the sound. I've played a few Jason Kostal MDs and have owned a Raymond Kraut OM. This one hangs with that crowd in spades. Thanks to Chris for giving me the opportunity to play in a perfect setting without any distractions or sour acoustics.

It was a pleasure to meet you. You and the Gaffney sounded beautiful together- nice playing! It really seemed at home in your hands. Someone will be very happy. Enjoy Tejas! Chris

Sorry about your shoulder. Mine is “funky” too, but this size doesn’t bother me. I a hair over 6” (more when I need a haircut), and I’m okay with it. But, that given, my Doerr Trinity is my go-to for couch lounging. Thanks for the kind words. Chris
