I was in an Americana band called “Delusions of Adequacy”. When that imploded two of us formed a duo named “Fewer Moving Parts”. In the 80s a New Haven band went by “Scaly Peters”. Not at all sure they were popular with the female audience.

Be a lot more challenging to come up with band names that aren't weird or goofy.
Hmmmm. The Steve Miller Band The Dave Clark Five The Average White Band? but that's verging on goofy, really.

My fake acoustic band, of which I am the only member, is Rusty Patina and the Antique Pickers.

+1. Rolls off the tongue now though.
rokdog49 (OP): when this thread has run it's course you should create a "Cool band names" thread. Probably see a couple of names from this list in that one, lol. |

After my drumming career direction changed from R&B to soul (Stax material mainly), I joined a band called "Miston Tuac"
Later, much later, a British made Amplifier brand called Tuac appeared on the market, which I thought was a strange coincidence. Even later I discovered that the amps were built by two former band members. The first band I joined playing guitar was called "A Boy And His Dog" We played songs by Love (Arthurlee) and such. Got reasonably popular around west London for a while. I had a duo with a bass player called "Professor Schnurrbart's Hokum Orchestra" I lined up with a great Dobro player and we became "Panhandle Conspiracy" Bass player disappeared but met up with the Dobro player only a week ago. My last bluegrass band had a long conversation one night and the banjo player used the phrase "if I had my druthers" bingo : We became "The Druthers Brothers" which had a little irony as one of us was female, and black.

Actually did a gig many years ago where we billed ourselves as Red Cooley and his Tennessee Tailkickers (Seymour McCann, Big Harry Butz, Thor Heinie, and Sister Ophelia Kiester)...
