Thanks, Karen. If you read the whole post, you'll see I have seen several specialists. It's not a musician thing but a general rotation problem due to my accident. The only thing that will fix it is to put the bones back exactly as they were before I broke them and that is not possible. Talking to others who have had similar accidents, they are all worse off than me.

Hey, Karen, not a problem. Once threads get 2-3 pages long, I don't read everything either, just scan the posts. Thanks again for both posts.

So I took the suggestion and ordered one of these, a De Oro guitar support. It should be here on Friday. I'll let you know how it works out.

I would think that something other than a dreadnaught would be more comfortable for someone with shoulder problems.

12 fret short scale dread
Custom shop. Martin, Larrivee, SC, Collings...they will all make what you want.

Thanks Peter. I am sure they would. I think my budget would be blown to smithereens, wherever that is.

What is the budget?
Larrivee's are pretty reasonable for what you get! |

Less than $1K. Unfortunately, this rules out a Froggy Bottom. So far, that is the only maker that would get me to open my wallet for a superb guitar but for a hobby player, thousands for a Froggy Bottom doesn't make sense to me.

I have no shoulder issues and have gravitated to where I own only 12 fret short scale guitars. They are just so comfortable to play especially if you are primarily a fingerstyle player. Good Luck (with making this work for your dreadnaughts)!
