Default K&K add-on volume control?

I have a K&K twin spot in my Irish Bouzouki. It is a really good passive pick up but the main (and annoying) drawback is the lack of volume control on the instrument.

K&K now offers an add-on volume control for $60. Installation seems pretty straight forward but you do end up with a lot of "stuff" living in the instrument, it seems. Extra cabling, existing connector, added male and female connectors, volume control itself etc.

Has anyone done this? Your thoughts? Any other system out there?

Got installed in a guitar. If used without a preamp it is not linear. There is a big jump in volume with a small adjustment as you get to the max volume. This issue disappears when used with a preamp.

I think you're better off using something like the K&K Pure preamp, for a little more $. You get volume and EQ plus impedance matching, right on your belt.

It sounds to me like the K&K Pure preamp is what you want. But I would understand if you don't want to clip something to your belt all the time. That's exactly why I don't use the one I bought for the K&K pickups in my mandolin and banjo.

Which means I have a spare one in perfect working order just lying around. I don't want to run afoul of any forum rules about attempting transactions outside of the classifieds section, but if you want to try a K&K Pure preamp, we can talk.
