I Need A New Beer
Been knocking back Stella Artois beer for a while, but I think I need a change. Got any suggestions for a tasty brewski?

Shiner Boch if it is around where you live.

Do you mean lager or, like real beer?

What other beers have you enjoyed besides Stella?

Lagers get a bad rap because that’s the most common brewing process of macro breweries, but I’ve had some amazing lagers from micro brews. |

Try a bunch! Many stores now let you buy a mixed 6 pack. I've been searching for decades.

Just got re-acquainted (after many years) with your local brew - Genny Cream Ale. Tough to find around here, but well worth the search.
Disclaimer for the micro-brew crowd - I'm mostly a IPA fan, but sometimes you want something you can have a few of.

I’m enjoying a nice amber right now and that comment nearly sent it shooting out of my nose!

Stella is an excellent beer, IMO. I don't know anything about breweries that are local to you in upstate New York, but I would suggest trying beers from those. Maybe start with something similar to Stella, if you like a pilsner-type beer, or just go for something completely different if you like all kinds of beer.

I’m sensing that microbrews are not everybody’s forte here. That being said, Great Lakes (Cleveland, OH) and Southern Tier (Lakewood, OH) are two breweries you should probably try. ST seems to focus on pale ales but GL has a pretty big variety of brews ranging from pilsners to porters. My personal favorite is the Edmund Fitzgerald porter.

I love racer 5 IPA and Ballast Point sculpin IPA. Both are delicious, though made are on the West Coast, so not sure about their availability.

I'm kinda out of the beer game these days. All seven of my prescription meds say "no alcohol".
Back when I was home brewing, my favorites were medium ales like Newcastle Brown and similar darker beers. My favorite was something I called "Alaska Light Crude" which fell somewhere between a brown ale and Guinness Stout. Start with a brown ale recipe and add extra chocolate / toasted malt. Never been much of an IPA fan - too hoppy for my palate - which is what most microbrews seem to be these days. |

If I had to drink one beer for the rest of my life, it would be Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.
