Low-end classical guitars
I agree 100%, but I wasn't referring to the actual "weight" of the guitar per se, but rather the strength. Factory built classical guitars are not as "delicate" or "fragile" as a luthier built classical guitar. This is because they typically have stronger (non-scalloped) bracing, and thicker soundboards, so the guitar will be "stronger" and stand up better to the unintentional mistreatment by a less skilled amateur player. While this results in some weight increase, it's no indication of better quality, but the opposite. It will not have the tone or volume of a hand-crafted guitar.
My hand crafted Renato Bellucci Concert classical is built on a 1943 Hermann Hauser blueprint, and a lot more fragile than a factory built classical, and of much higher quality, with great tone and volume (and very beautiful), and it is built "much closer to the edge" and requires constant monitoring of both temperature and humidity. Glen

Ok, here is the set with my name on it.. and after years of experimentation
i found these to be the best for my ear, http://www.stringsbymail.com/store/c...set-11066.html Now , string by mail also has what they call "experiment sets, which are a group of high end sets sold as a package, so people can try different sets.. waste of money for me, but some may want to look it it,, www.stringsbymail.com in my opinion the best place to buy strings only because in the beginning the started as a classical string only and have since expanded from there, There are many other good online sources , strings and beyond is a fine online shop,, but they dont sell groups or single nylon like strings by mail. The brick and mortal local shops usually dont carry many nylon string varietys. good luck with it, Rick
